The Young Writers Program is a truly amazing thing sponsored by National Novel Writing Month.

Every year, NaNoWriMo provides hundreds of classrooms with the tools and supplies they need for the students to participate in the NaNoWriMo challenge in November.

The goal for young writers is the same as for everyone else: write a complete novel in the 30 days of November. For them, the word count isn’t as important, they can pick their own goal, but it doesn’t keep any of them from writing the full 50,000 words.

Classrooms from elementary school all the way through to universities participate in the event with more classrooms joining every year. Continue reading
